Our hospital, Atrium Health University City, will serve free breakfasts and lunches for all kids ages 18 and younger, every weekday from June 10 to Aug. 23.
The free meals are provided through the federal Summer Food Service Program to ensure that all children, regardless of income, have good nutrition throughout the summer months when school is not in session.
Atrium Health and Sodexo, a food-service company, are partnering with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to host the Summer Meals program at Atrium Health University City.
Along with our hospital, many schools and other facilities across Charlotte will also serve free meals for kids.
