Heart Math Tutoring (“Heart Tutoring”) is recruiting volunteers to help elementary students catch up. In 2019/20, the program will support 1,150 students who are economically disadvantaged and have been nominated by their schools.
With tutoring starting the week of September 30th, Volunteers are still needed for the final 200 students on the list. It only takes 30 minutes a week to serve as a volunteer tutor and make a lasting impact, the group says.
Heart Tutoring provides training, volunteer-friendly lesson plans, and on-site staff support. Most importantly, students build skills and confidence: 98% have met program goals set by UNC Charlotte and CMS.
The program is easy for volunteers and effective for students!
