The University City Regional Library will hold a College and Career Fair on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 11 am to 4 pm. Representatives from 16 colleges and trade schools plus three branches of the military will be present to talk with teens, preteens and family members.
The fair will help bring awareness about college and other post-high school learning opportunities. Along with school representatives, several financial-aid experts will attend the fair and talk about ways to pay for school.
The library will have other activities related to the college fair for adults and children throughout the day.

One of University City’s most popular classrooms isn’t at a school; it’s at the University City Regional Library.
Next week alone, library staff and volunteers will lead 29 programs ranging from tech-games for kids to a daylong screenwriting workshop (taught by the Charlotte Film School). Most programs are free.

University City Regional Library invites readers young and old to celebrate its 25 anniversary on Thursday with music, storytelling, dance and a book signing and talk featuring author Gail Martin. Learn more about the day’s activities and the special qualities that make our branch one of the system’s most popular!
The day will begin with special storytimes and face painting, followed by an author talk with Gail Martin. The celebration continues in the afternoon with refreshments and music.
Other attractions throughout the day include hourly raffles, professional storytellers and a technology “petting zoo.” (more…)
